research annual pass prices
Purchase annual passes to local aquariums, museums, and amusement parks. It will seem like a lot of money up front, but once you have the passes, you’re able to go as much as you’d like. Purchasing certain memberships will give you free or discounted admission to other zoos and aquariums through the reciprocal program, so be sure to check out the link for a list of included locations.

It’s really easy to get discounts around town if you use Groupon and Living Social. Enter your zip code or closest major city and deals will be shown in your area for up to 80% off! Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed!
look for discounted tickets to amusement parks
Pick them up at your local grocery store and near the register of other stores. Check online to see what “online deals only” are being offered.
Check out your local parks and recreation for inexpensive classes or camps
Depending on where you live, you may be able to keep the kiddos occupied with week-long camps without breaking the bank. Schedule weekly play dates with their friends and alternate locations to give each parent a much-needed break. 😉
Play outside
There are many free activities you and your children can do outside such as: play in the sprinkler, kick/catch a ball, toss a Frisbee, draw with sidewalk chalk, ride a bike/scooter, roller skate/blade, jump rope, go for a walk, etc. I keep a large, plastic tub in the garage filled with toys to be played with outside. It really helps to keep everything in one place and accessible.
