I know it’s been a while since the last update and a lot has happened since then. We’re almost there! 🙂
As you may or may not know, our family is building a home with NV Homes to downsize and be closer to my husband’s job. We are now in the final stretch of the homebuilding process. If you’d like to catch up and read more about our journey, here are the previous posts:

There has been a lot of action going on over here-lots of packing and planning. We are also going to have a yard sale to get rid of a lot of unwanted items and furniture. That’s a job all by itself! Thank goodness I have lots of help.
We have already had our pre-drywall inspection and we got to see what the house looked like before they added the drywall. That was really exciting to see!
We learned that our front bay window has a copper roof. I hadn’t seen that anywhere before, so I did a little research on it. Apparently, copper roofs are pretty expensive and require little to no maintenance. If you have a copper roof, or know anything about them, please let me know. I’m not sure how I feel about my roof turning green!
It’s great to finally see the house with the brick, siding, and inside walls. We can now get a better feel for how things will turn out. I can tell you that it’s very stressful trying to pick everything out when you only have small samples to select from!
One of the features I am absolutely loving is the addition of our bay windows! We added 3 and will have a total of 4. They let in so much light and make the rooms seem so much larger.
I was also very happy to see that all of our cabinets were installed. We chose espresso in the kitchen and white in all of the bathrooms. I am going to do my happy dance once the marble backsplash is installed!
Our project manager notified us that our closing is set for May 9th. Because our oldest daughter graduates from high school on June 3rd, we don’t plan to move in until June 6. We are close enough to the new house to move some things in and get some rooms painted ahead of time.
We’re really excited to be sharing our journey with you and hope it helps someone else going through this process.
We’re hoping the next time we visit, we’ll see the countertops, flooring, appliances, and light fixtures. We’re almost there!

Until next time! 🙂
